New love and new life are part of the Steinreich Mennoniten Gemeinde. During the last few years, we have had the privilege of marrying many young couples and welcoming many young babies. As a church it gives us great joy to watch these families form and grow. One way we show our joy and support towards these families is by showering them with gifts; this is where the Bridal and Baby Shower Committee comes in. This team, formed of three ladies, makes sure that each bride who marries at Steinreich has the opportunity to have a shower in her honor. They do the same upon the birth of the firstborn baby in each family. If the family already has older children, the team gifts them a basket of essentials and goodies for the new baby. When hosting a shower, the Bridal and Baby Shower Committee usually plans it together with the family of the bride or the young baby; and although each shower is unique, it is custom to sing, play games, have a speech, share a meal and of course unwrap presents. By showering the newness of family with love and gifts, Steinreich Mennoniten Gemeinde strives to celebrate and build family life.
