Groundskeeper, janitor, electrician, plumber, caretaker of the cemetery … these are just some of the hats that the maintenance men of the Steinreich Mennoniten Gemeinde wear.  This team of two is responsible for the proper function and aesthetic of the church building and grounds. During the summer, they arrange that the lawn will be mown. During the winter, they assure the proper function of the heating system. At funerals, they provide the grieving family with the cemetery service. When it is dark, they look after proper lighting in and outside of the church building. When the church is full, they create a marked lot so everyone can have a place to park. They also coordinate an annual cleanup day where many volunteers gather to clean, organize and improve extensively. In general, they ensure that everything within the church grounds and buildings works as it should, while always looking for ways to enhance its attractiveness and functionality.
