Sunday School
Every Sunday during service the Steinreich Mennoniten Gemeinde offers Sunday school for kids ages 2-12. Children attending Sunday school get divided into two age groups, the smaller class being for children ages 2-5, the larger one for those age 6-12. Each service an average of 10 children attend the younger Sunday school class. With joy in their hearts they learn new songs, enjoy the colorfully illustrated Biblical story their teacher tells and carry out activities related to the story. While the younger class only attends Sunday school during the sermon, the older children partake in their class during the entire service. An average of 40 children attend the larger class each Sunday. Just recently a new, larger room was provided for them which allowed for a fresh structure in the Sunday school system where the kids get divided into groups, with each group led by an older Sunday school student. After heartily singing and praising God through several songs, the teacher provides the kids with a Bible lesson that is part of a “Going through the Bible” plan. This plan permits the class to go through the entire Bible in 4 years. We encourage each student who attends to bring their Bible and participate in Bible reading. After the lesson, the children are led into group work and group presentations; this to prepare them for future teamwork they may one day take part in. Each class ends in prayer, with a multitude of gratitude and prayer points suggested by the children. In short, the Sunday school environment of the Steinreich Mennoniten Gemeinde is family like. The students who attend work together, they share what weighs on their hearts, they forgive one another, they praise together, and they worship together in prayer.
